Synopsis:

This documentary tells the fascinating story of an ancient pharaoh who was almost lost to history, and the archaeological sleuthing that went into piecing together information about him.

An accidental discovery in 1975 by Canadian archaeologist Dr. Donald Redford and his team led to the uncovering of the foundation of one of Akhenaten's temples. The film follows Redford in his attempt to solve the mystery of this enigmatic ruler.

Synopsis:

British Columbia has a reforestation program to restock vast tracts of land stripped by logging companies. DO IT WITH JOY is about a unique community: a group of people from widely varying backgrounds who come together each spring to plant trees in the vast logged areas of northern British Columbia.

For all of them, tree planting is a source of income, but more importantly it is a chance to share in the building of a self-sufficient community for the few months of the planting season.

Synopsis:

A highly charged award winning documentary examining the causes and consequences of rape, one of the fastest growing crimes in America. It includes an emotional confrontation between rapists and victims of rape (though not by these particular men).

The women reveal the depth of the trauma they sustained. The men, who are in therapy at the Washington State Hospital, seem surprised at the deep emotional wounds that the women experienced.

In addition to examining the complex issue of rape, the filmmakers provide an insight into the thought processes and behavior patterns of violent sex offenders, and the implied values society places on power and the status of women..

Synopsis:

Exceptional or gifted children represent a great potential for society. However, the majority of these children go unrecognized because public educational systems are not geared to challenge their academic, artistic and personal growth.

Through interviews with teachers, parents and gifted students in Coquitlam, British Columbia, GIFTED KIDS looks at one of the few school districts in North America that has continually expanding enrichment programs throughout its primary and secondary grades.

The film examines how these programs stimulate the students' particular talents, and discusses some of the problems that gifted children face in the absence of such resources.
